Introduction

"That look's great!" are the first words that tend to come out when you're about to indulge in a lavish feast!  When it comes to food there is no doubt at all that the visual sense is one of the most important when you really want someone to enjoy a meal.  I don't know about you but when I was a kid I was a sucker made to eat my veg when it was presented like a flower as oppose to the dumping on your plate looking boring and unappetising.  I mean, imagine your Sunday Roast thrown together in a big mess; although it may taste delicious, the difference of all the components from the fresh meat in the middle, surrounding by yummy roast potatoes, racks of the colourful different boiled veg of carrots, green beans and some broccoli on the side and drizzled generously in hot gravy are pleasing to the eye and form a plate that would definitely makes your mouth water.  You wouldn't believe it but there's a mass of theories and techniques based upon the best (and worse?) methods of presenting food in order to ensure what ever the meal is, it looks as attractive as possible.  As I walk through the different meals and occasions that one experiences through out their life's - from the over-articulation of afternoon tea to the icing on top of your birthday cake, I will throughout this blog aim to discover the art of food presentation and the point and effects of the action over the years.  I will be using literature both for its theories and demonstration of how food is presented and the several opinions on the importance of the idea.
